Welcome to Idiom News
Idiom News was created with one simple belief: understanding English should not feel confusing or out of reach for anyone.
My name is Qamar Shazad, and I’m the person behind this site. I’m a self-learner myself, which means I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to hear a phrase like “break the ice” or “once in a blue moon” and have no idea what it actually means, even when you understand every individual word.
That frustration is exactly why this site exists.
Why I Started Idiom News
I wanted to build a place where anyone, regardless of their background or experience with English, could come and actually learn something useful. Idioms are a huge part of how people really speak, yet they’re rarely explained in a way that feels simple and clear.
I started Idiom News so that learning these expressions would feel approachable instead of overwhelming.
What You’ll Find Here
While idioms are the heart of this website, Idiom News isn’t limited to just that. Alongside idiom explanations, you’ll also find articles covering general life topics, including technology, business, and health, all written with the same goal: making useful information easy to understand.
Every article on this site is written to be:
- Simple – explained in plain, everyday language.
- Practical – with real examples you can actually use in conversation or writing.
- Genuinely useful – whether you’re here to learn an idiom or read about something happening in everyday life.
My Approach
I’m not a professional linguist or a certified teacher. I’m someone who learned this material the same way many of you are learning it now, through curiosity, research, and paying close attention to how language is actually used.
That perspective shapes everything published here. Articles are written to be clear first, without unnecessary jargon or complicated explanations that make simple ideas feel harder than they are.
Looking Ahead
Idiom News will keep growing, with new idiom explanations added regularly, along with general articles on topics that matter in everyday life. The goal has always stayed the same: create content that anyone can pick up, understand, and actually use.
If you’re here to finally understand what “kick the bucket” or “spill the beans” really means, or you’re just here to read something useful about everyday life, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for being here.
